Hey guys! Its been a bit - sorry about that. There are a few things I'd like to discuss with everyone, and I'd love your input on improving the group and its functionality for all!
Many of you who were previously 'contributors' will notice you've been moved to 'members.'
Anyone is welcome to note a request to me or the group asking to become a contributor. Contributors need to complete at least 2 critiques per month, or contribute a prize for a forthcoming contest, to maintain contributor status.
For those who feel a bit unsure about giving critiques, once you have access to the admin panel there are discussions about the topic you can read and a simple outline for somewhere to start when writing a critique. I also highly recommend checking out this journal: fav.me/d7nlkmk
I could really use some help getting through a lot of the requested critiques, so please let me know if you'd be interested in becoming a Contributor for the group!
*EDIT* If you have more than 2 submissions in the folder "Art to be Critiqued" please reply here letting us know if you would be OK with us removing the excess oldest submissions. Alternatively you can list which two works you would like to remain for critique and which extras can be removed. This is an effort to allow critiques on your more recent and relevant works, as I am sure those with multiple submissions waiting for critique have improved a fair bit since those older submissions were made. No reply to this journal will be interpreted as an 'OK' from you to remove your older works.
With summer right around the corner, I'd love to host another contest! But I'd like this one to be bigger and better than our first three contests. I will of course donate points and/or Core to the prizes, but if you would be willing to donate art, features, points, Core, or other prizes to make this a more enticing contest to enter, please send me or the group a note! We are also taking suggestions for a theme for the contest. Would you like to see another Set Stock challenge (requiring at least one provided stock image be included in the manip), an open 'summer' theme, or something completely new and different? Let us know in the comments!
Lastly if you have any other ideas or input outside of these topics about how to make the group better, feel free to comment here or send me a note. ^_^

New Year - New You! The 'Make it New' contest is all about celebrating your improvement as an artist. Though we are three weeks into the new year, it is still just the beginning of 2017. The idea is to go back to some of your early work - 5 years ago, 1 year ago, 6 months ago, this part is up to you! Pick an early piece of your work, and Make it New. Try to use the same, or similiar, stock if possible. Show us how you've grown as an artist, and what about your art, style, or technique that you'
Changes to Canipulate's Member Structure
Hey everyone! With the new year, we have decided to make a couple of small changes to Canipulate that we feel will help to make this a more productive and rewarding group to be part of. We have completely updated the 'Group Guidelines,' which can be found on the main page, but I will list everything here as well to keep everyone informed. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to myself (CastleGraphics (https://www.deviantart.com/castlegraphics)) or MrsEvelyn (https://www.deviantart.com/mrsevelyn).
There will also be an activity check of sorts for current Contributors to determine who should be kept as such and who should be moved to Members. If you are not currently a Contributor and would like to becom
Artist Feature and Interview: Amphispiza
Hey guys! Just two quick things before we get to the feature for the Autumn contest winner.
1. If you haven't already, be sure to check out our Secret Santa event! Please consider sharing the event in a poll or journal to get more people involved. Its going to be awesome!!
2. We have created a new gallery folder titled 'Member Features.' This folder is for submitting artwork that you don't necessarily want to have critiqued, but that you'd still like to share with the community. There is a limit of one deviation per week per deviant. You can also always suggest your pieces as favorites for the group, too!
NOW ON TO THE GOOD STUFF!!

I wouldn't mind my older submissions in the critiqued folder being removed.
